Having persuaded 2,000 citizens to donate their eyes in recent weeks, National Cadets Corps (NCC) volunteers from West Bengal and Sikkim now aim to motivate 100,000 people to pledge their eyes by NCC Day in November, a top officer said Friday.
"We aim to motivate one lakh persons to pledge their eyes by NCC Day in November," Additional Director General, NCC (West Bengal &Sikkim), Maj.Gen. Shyam Shrivastava said here.
NCC Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of November. This year the date is Nov 23.
At a brief ceremony at the NCC Club House, NCC Director General, Lt.Gen. Aniruddha Chakravarty inaugurated and launched the noble initiative.
