A National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militant was gunned down on Friday by security forces in Meghalaya's East Garo Hills district, police said.
Swift Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) police commandos raided a hideout of 10 NDFB cadres and several Garo miscreants in Tarasin village. As the commandos approached the village, they were fired upon, East Garo Hills police chief Ringrang Momin said.
Koma Boro, a rebel from the anti-talk faction of NDFB, was killed in the retaliatory firing, he added. An AK rifle along with a magazine was seized from the deceased.
