A train accident was averted on Tuesday when the New Delhi-Puri Neelanchal Express brushed past a loaded truck parked close to the tracks in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district, officials said. No one was injured.
According to a Northern Railway official, the truck loaded with sand was parked close to the tracks when the footboards of a few coaches scraped it around 8.40 p.m. in Pratapgarh district.
He said the footboards of these coaches and truck's side were damaged. Police has since seized the truck.
The official said the train resumed its onward journey around 9.05 p.m. after an inspection by a Railway team.
