Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Sunday urged the opposition parties to follow the parliamentary process to find a way out of the current political deadlock.

Speaking at a press meet at Biratnagar airport, Dahal said that the deadlock would end when Parliament finalises the Constitution amendment bill, the Kathmandu Post reported.

Dahal also claimed that the amendment bill was forwarded to unite the people from Tarai and mountain and hill areas, paving the way to elections.

He urged the opposition parties to put their views on the bill rather than obstruct the working of Parliament.

The Prime Minister added that the local bodies elections would be held by April and the local body restructuring commission was preparing to submit its report on Wednesday.

In response to a query by the journalists on the possibility of changes in the amendment bill, Prachanda said only slight changes might be made.
