Netherlands' Prime Minister Mark Rutte, accompanied by two ministers and a large trade delegation, is visiting India June 5-6, during which he will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
Rutte will be accompanied by Foreign Trade Minister Lilianne Ploumen and Agriculture Minister Sharon Dijksma.
On June 5, Rutte will meet Modi and members of his cabinet together with Ploumen, and Dijksma. This meeting will be followed by a roundtable of Dutch and Indian delegation with representatives of large Dutch and Indian enterprises.
Dijksma accompanied by a trade delegation of more than 80 Dutch companies and research institutes, headed by the chairman of the Confederation of the Netherlands' Industry and Employers Hans de Boer will visit India from June 4, said a Netherlands embassy statement.
The further strengthening of the political and economic ties between India and The Netherlands will be the main focus of the meeting with Modi. With a primary focus on Delhi and Mumbai, the delegation will spend a day in each city, meeting with relevant ministries and companies.
The Netherlands is India's fourth largest trading partner within the EU and it belongs to the top five largest investors in India. The trade volume between India and the Netherlands has increased over the last couple of years to almost 6 billion Euros.
There are large opportunities for Dutch companies in India, in particular in agriculture and horticulture, water management, life sciences and healthcare, and sports infrastructure, said an external affairs ministry statement.
