The NHRC has issued notice to Mizoram after a 20-year-old student was shot dead by police, a statement said on Friday.

Taking cognizance of a media report, the National Human Rights Commission said Agosh Chakma was killed in south Mizoram on Aug 4.

"The incident raises questions regarding violation of human rights of the student. Notices have been issued to the chief secretary and the director general of police calling for a detailed report within four weeks," the NHRC said.
