Facing criticism for skipping the inaugural NITI Aayog meet, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Monday said there were inconsistencies about the new body that replaced the Planning Commission and termed it "hazy like fog".

Addressing a government programme at Burdwan, Banerjee, also the Trinamool Congress supremo, said the Narendra Modi government's decision to abolish the plan panel tantamount to insult of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who had first conceptualised it.

"Netaji was the first to conceptualise the planning commission, it was his dream. We will not accept this humiliation. Those who humiliate Netaji, how can they can think that they will get me on board on that issue," she said.

"Everything about the new body is unclear. It is hazy like fog. We don't know from where the funds will come and how the states will get money, how work will be done and where development will happen.

"We had opposed it (NITI Aayog) and had given several suggestions, but not a single one was accepted," said Banerjee.

The opposition Sunday had slammed Banerjee for "undermining" and "jeopardising" the welfare of her state by skipping the first meeting of Governing Council of NITI Aayog, chaired by Modi.

Banerjee accused the BJP-led central government of "crossing the limit" in its neglect for Bengal.

"If the (erstwhile)UPA government neglected Bengal, BJP is crossing all limits in that. The centre is not giving us any funds, instead taking away all our revenues," she said, claiming that almost the entire state revenue is taken away by the centre towards repayment of debts.
