West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Friday announced that applicants will not be required to have their documents attested Dec 1 onwards for most official government work. They will be considered eligible for self-attestation.
"Today, our cabinet has decided that from Dec 1, 2014, attestation and affidavit in most government work will not be required. Applicants will themselves be competent to self-attest, unless there is a specific legal requirement," Banerjee said on her official Facebook page.
