Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde Monday said he has no information on the alleged case of sexual assault involving spiritual guru Asaram Bapu.
The issue was raised in the Lok Sabha by Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, who demanded action against a "saint" who has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor.
"The honourable member mentioned about Asaram Bapu. All these are state subjects and I have no information in the matter," said Shinde.
"Whenever we get any information from the state concerned, we will share with the house," he added.
Asaram Bapu has been asked to appear before Rajasthan Police for questioning in the case registered on the complaint of a 16-year-old girl a week ago.
The girl accused Asaram Bapu of sexually assaulting her at his ashram in Jodhpur city, a charge denied by the spiritual guru.
