Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said on Thursday that she can't revoke the suspension of 25 Congress parliamentarians suo motu and that no one had approached her on the matter till now.
"Neither have I got any proposal from anyone to revoke the suspensions, nor anyone has approached me till date," Mahajan told reporters outside parliament.
"I can't take any suo motu decision," she added.
Meanwhile, the Congress members continued their protest for the third day on Thursday over the suspension of 25 parliamentarians by the speaker on August 3 for five days for "wilfully obstructing the business of the house" and not adhering to her repeated requests to observe the rules in the house.
On the privilege notice given by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya over the Indian Youth Congress' protest outside her residence in New Delhi on Wednesday, Mahajan said, "I will look into it as per the rules."
