A federation of street and working children Wednesday said Nobel Peace Prize to activist Kailash Satyarthi has raised hopes for over 40 million children, who live on streets across India.
"Satyarthi's feat seem to have raised hopes for over 40 million children, who dwell on streets across India, but the question of freedom from child labour continues to stares them in the face," Badthe Kadam said in a statement.
Badthe Kadam's national secretary Chandani said: "We have already conveyed our wishes to Satyarthi uncle through our newspaper Balaknama. But the children of this organisation still await for the day India would give us our dignity back by ensuring protection from child labour."
