Indian Super League (ISL) franchise NorthEast United FC on Friday roped in Carlos Javier Lopez to replace injured Zambian midfielder Kondwani Mtonga.
"Kondwani had suffered an ACL strain and meniscal injury which has ruled him out of the competition this year," said a release from the franchise.
Lopez is an Argentine medio who has played in clubs like Tiro Federal (Argentina, 2010-2011) and Deportivo Italia (Venezuela, 2009-2010).
At the start of his career he had plied his trade for Mexican outfits Pachuca (2001-2002) and Merida (2003-2004). His last club was Deportivo Anzoátegui (Venezuela).
