A Japanese jeweller has made a gold replica of Darth Vader's helmet and minted gold coins with the image of the famous villain engraved on them to celebrate the forthcoming seventh film of the "Star Wars" saga.
The helmet will be on display until May 6 on the third floor of Tokyo's Ginza Tanaka store "for the delight of fans", the company's public relations manager Ayako Inoue told Efe news agency.
The helmet, with a value "too high for anyone to buy", was made in collaboration with Disney and will go on to join the producer's collection.
Though the helmet is not for sale, a series of gold coins engraved with Darth Vader's "original design", weighing either 10 gm or 30 gm, will be available for buyers from May 4 until the end of April 2016.
The 10-gm coin will cost $543 and the 30-gm coin will be available at$3,262.
Tanaka has also created a limited edition series of 11 masks replicating the stormtroopers from the movie.
Tanaka took four months to plan and execute the entire project, with which it seeks to commemorate the release, after a gap of 10 years, of a seventh Star Wars film, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
Though still eight months from the film's release, Ginza Tanaka decided to commercialise the coins bearing the inscription "May the Force be with you" in May, with "May" striking a chord, the manager added.
