One dead, 4 injured in J&K explosion

One person was killed and four were injured on Sunday in an explosion at a meadow in Jammu and Kashmir's Badgam district, police said.

"Wajid Ahmad Ahangar belonging to Arizal village succumbed to critical injuries in a Srinagar hospital," police said.

Five youths were injured in the explosion that took place in the Tosa Maidan meadow.

The area was previously used by the Army as a firing range.

It was claimed that before throwing the meadow open for visitors all unexploded devices were defused.
