A man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a teenaged girl in the Salt Lake area here, police said.
According to the complaint lodged by the minor's family, the 21-year-old accused M. Mondal lured the girl to a secluded spot when her parents were not at home.
They said he took the girl to an under-construction building on the pretext of an outing.
Unable to locate her at home, the girl's brother started looking for her and found Mondal trying to sexually assault her.
The accused managed to flee with the help of his two friends. All the three were detained and the accused was arrested after the girl's family lodged a complaint, police said.
