A child was injured when a bomb exploded in a garbage dump in Allahabad on Wednesday, police said.

The blast took place in Rasoolabad area of the city.

Four crude bombs were also recovered from the site and have been sent for forensic checking, a police official said.

"They have since been diffused and we are questioning the people around to ascertain how the crude bombs reached the garbage dump near a temple," the official told IANS.

The injured has been identified as seven-year-old Sunny.
