A man was killed and another was seriously injured after being shot at a courthouse in central Copenhagen Tuesday, local police said.
"I can confirm that two people were hit by gunfire and one of them has died," Xinhua cited Danish news agency Ritzau as quoting Kristian Aaskov, head of security of Copenhagen police.
Police said the shooter, who fired several shots Tuesday morning at the bailiff's court near the City Hall, has been arrested and a sawed-off shotgun has been seized.
The cause of the shooting has yet to be determined, but Chief Justice Soren Axelsen told local TV2 News that a family conflict might be a factor behind the tragedy.
The crime scene has been cordoned off as armed officers and forensic units are conducting investigations.
