One person was killed and two injured in firing when they were caught in a clash between employees of a bar and a group of unidentified people here on Thursday, police said.
Police said the bouncers at the bar located at Haridevpur in Kolkata's southern outskirts got into a heated argument with some unidentified people a little after midnight when they refused to pay for the bar services.
It soon resulted in a clash and 30-35 bullets were fired. A stray bullet hit a nearby pedestrian.
"The gang which had refused to pay carried firearms and bombs. Three locals sustained bullet injuries and had to be rushed to a hospital where one was declared brought dead. The other two are undergoing treatment," police said.
Although the bar authorities had called the police when the brawl began, the law-keepers were outnumbered as the gang members had called their associates.
"So far, no arrests have been made and we are probing the incident," police said.
