A 14-year-old girl was killed and two people were wounded in a stabbing attack near the West Bank settlement of Alon Shvut Monday, Israeli police said.
One of the wounded was stated to be in serious condition, while the other was said to have sustained light injuries, Xinhua quoted Israeli emergency services as saying.
Initial report said a police officer shot dead the assailant, reportedly a Palestinian, but the latest report said he was shot and seriously wounded.
Before the stabbing, the assailant attempted to run the victims over with his car.
The attack came just hours after a Palestinian stabbed and critically wounded a 20-year-old Israeli soldier near a train station in Tel Aviv at noon Monday. Anti-terror police have found the suspected assailant, who entered Israel illegally, hiding in a nearby building and apprehended him for questioning.
