A motorcyclist was killed and two others were seriously injured in two road accidents in the city, police said on Tuesday. A car driver has been arrested in one of the cases.
Police said all three motorcyclists were driving without helmets.
A 35-year-old motorcyclist was injured when a speeding goods vehicle rammed his two-wheeler on Monday night on south Kolkata's Taratala Road, Kolkata Police Joint Commissioner (Headquarters) Supratim Sarkar said.
He sustained severe head injury and was declared brought dead at the SSKM Hospital, he said.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured seriously on Monday night when their motorcycle was hit by a car in Bhawanipore area. Both were hospitalised.
The Alipore police has seized the vehicles involved in both the accidents. The car driver has been arrested.
