Minister of State for Defence Production Rao Inderjit Singh on Tuesday here assured ex-servicemen that the NDA government will certainly implement 'one rank, one pension' scheme and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce it at an appropriate occasion.
Noting that after being named as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Modi addressed his first rally of ex-servicemen in Haryana's Rewari district on September 15, 2013, Singh said that Modi is now prime minister and he will implement 'one rank, one pension' scheme at the right time.
The defence ministry has fast-tracked the work on the scheme, he said.
"The promises made will be fulfilled. I assure whatever we said will be fulfilled but there is a need to be patient," said Singh, who is also the Gurgaon MP.
