Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh on Monday visited the Ordnance Factory Board and instructed it to boost production and invest more in research and development.
Singh posted on his official Facebook page: "Visited Ordnance Factory Board, Kolkata. Had a detailed presentation from OFB officials and asked them to devise road map for boosting production and deploying more resources on Research and Development activities."
The OFB consisting of the Indian Ordnance Factories is an industrial organisation, functioning under the department of defence production of the defence ministry and is tasked with production of state-of-the-art battle field equipment.
Singh said OFB's new policy for outsourcing will be out soon.
