Known for its signature flavours like strawberry, chocolate and butterscotch, vintage dairy brand Keventers, has brought a twist to its palette with a contemporary and modern change for the taste buds of milkshake lovers.

Melting Rose, Mint Oreo Crumble, Hawaiian Passion, Tutti Frutti, Chocolate Hazelnut, Choco Peanut butter and Kit-Kat -- there's this and more such youth-pleasing blends available at Keventers, which was originally started by Swedish entrepreneur Edward Keventer in 1925.

Agastya Mihir Dalmia and entrepreneurs Aman Arora and Sohrab Sitaram have reintroduced and recreated the brand, giving it a new look, feel and taste profile.

"It was very exciting to recreate this brand and revive its former glory. I dug up all the old collaterals, the old recipes and some old packaging material and decided to put it all together. With a vision of opening four Keventers outlets in New Delhi's premium malls, the plan is to develop a franchise model by the end of the year and spread it throughout India," Dalmia said.

For the old time Keventers lovers, the place would be reminiscent of an outlet in Connaught Place (CP). The place would be thronged by young couples, old couples and even families, with parents treating their children to an ocassional treat of yummy milkshakes.

However, the CP outlet was a distributor of Keventers milkshake and has now been renamed as Shake Square.

The Keventers factory was located at Delhi's Chanakyapuri area, which is a diplomatic zone now, and so, the factories had to shut down in that area.

"Our CP outlet was a franchise outlet run by a distributor, so we had 48 distributors and the factory was ours. The distributors used to pick up the milkshakes or we would drop the shakes at the respective outlets," Aman told IANS.

Now, the brand is out to entice its patrons with new flavours.

If you are a fan of candied fruits, then Tutti Frutti is bound to become favourite shake. But a word of caution here -- if you're not a person with a sweet tooth, don't tru this.

The Hawaiian Passion, with the pineapple flavour in dominance, turned out to be a little more balanced.

What stood out for me among the new blends was the chocolate hazelnut shake, which left me with a nutty after-taste. With hazelnut overpowering the chocolate, you could go 'nuts' over the refreshing shake.

The Keventers' outlets, at present, have opened at two key spots in the capital -- the Select CityWalk mall in Saket, and at the DLF Promenade mall -- offering something for every type of milkshake lover.
