Chelsea attacking midfielder Oscar on Wednesday said he is keen on impressing the football club's incoming head coach Antonio Conte.

Current Italy head coach Conte will replace interim coach Guus Hiddink after Euro 2016 to be held in June 10 to July 10.

Brazilian international Oscar has not been in the best of form this season and believes Conte's arrival will be like a "breath of fresh air".

"It will be a breath of fresh air to the team (Conte's arrival) and everyone's excited to prove their worth to be here. Obviously I haven't been very happy because I haven't been playing very much but, with the new coach coming in, it's a fresh beginning for everyone," Oscar was quoted as saying by football-italia.net.

"Obviously you have to prove yourself. I'm sure the coach has been following all the players individually."

The 24-year-old also chose to elaborate on his dismal 2015-2016 season saying, "It's been very difficult for me.

"I had a great last season, and I'm coming from two or three seasons of doing well, but I was one of those players who got injured at the start of this season."

Oscar, who found himself on the bench time and again this season hopes to have a turnaround in fortunes in the next one.

"When I came back, the team wasn't doing so well and I found myself on the bench and in and out of the first team. I didn't achieve the level I wanted to achieve but hopefully next season I can do better," he said.
