Patients in Uttar Pradesh can henceforth get more than 100 types of pathological tests done free of cost in government hospitals under a cabinet decision taken Wednesday.
Only a few days back, the state cabinet cleared a scheme of free X-rays for patients in government hospitals across the state. Medicine is already available for free in such hospitals.
Briefing media after a cabinet meeting here, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said a new housing policy has also been given the go-ahead.
In another decision, the cabinet also cleared 52 acres of land in the 32nd Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) campus to be given to the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation.
The place would be used as a 'mother depot' for the ambitious metro project.
