Over 180 militants die in Afghanistan clashes, airstrikes

Over 180 Taliban militants were killed in airstrikes and clashes with the security forces across Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, the Afghan Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.

"A total of 186 militants were killed, 58 were injured and eight others detained during military operations and airstrikes over the past 24 hours," Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying in a statement here.

Ten army personnel were also killed in separate attacks over the same period, the statement said.

The Taliban militants were yet to make any comment.
