Pakistan on Tuesday again summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh to "strongly condemn" the "unprovoked ceasefire violations" on the Line of Control that led to the deaths of six civilians.

Director General (SA & SAARC), Mohammad Faisal, summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner, Singh, and strongly condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations on October 31, 2016, by the Indian forces on the LoC in Nikial and Jandrot sectors, resulting in the deaths of six civilians, including a woman, and injuries to eight civilians, including two women, said a statement by the Pakistan Foreign Office.

The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding; investigate the continued incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit, stop targeting the villages and civilians and maintain peace on the Working Boundary and the LoC, the statement said.

The Indian diplomat has been summoned several times in the past few weeks over firing by forces on the border.
