Pakistan's Hindu community wants the government to repair its temples which are in dilapidated condition, a media report said Sunday.

The demand was voiced at a function by Hindu community representatives in Punjab's Bahawalpur city Saturday, Dawn online reported.

They asked the authorities to renovate their places of worship so they could pray without any difficulty.

They also demanded that their children be given admission to higher educational institutions according to the Hindu quota system and boundary walls around Hindu cremation grounds.

Hindus form 1.6 percent of Pakistan's population.
