The Palestinian flag will be raised at the Office of the UN at Geneva (UNOG) during a ceremony to be held on October 13, UNOG's information office announced on Friday.

The ceremony is being organised in accordance with a resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly on September 10, whereby the flags of non-member observer states can now be flown at UN headquarters and offices around the world, Xinhua news agency reported.

The resolution was adopted by an overwhelming majority of UN member states.

The Palestinian flag was raised at UN headquarters in New York for the first time on September 30.
