Former coach of Brazilian football club Cruzeiro, Marcelo Oliveira has agreed to join league rivals Palmeiras until the end of 2016.
Oliveira was due to be officially presented to the media at the club's Sao Paulo headquarters on Tuesday, Palmeiras said in a statement on their website, reports Xinhua.
His signing comes six days after Palmeiras sacked Oswaldo de Oliveira due to poor results.
Oliveira led Cruzeiro to consecutive league titles in the past two seasons before being dismissed earlier this month after their Copa Libertadores quarter-final loss to River Plate.
The 60-year-old's first game in charge of Palmeiras will be against Gremio in Porto Alegre on Saturday.
