Actress-model Pamela Anderson has joined the star-studded cast of the big screen adaptation of "Baywatch".
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson announced the 48-year-old star's involvement in an Instagram post he shared on Thursday night, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Captioning a photograph of him posing with the Playboy playmate, the actor wrote: "She introduced the world to 'CJ Parker' and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation -- for the most successful TV show of all time."
"A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our 'Baywatch' cast. We couldn't have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!" he continued, adding the hashtags "#PamAnderson", "#OS" and "#OriginalSmokestack".
The "Baywatch" movie is directed by Seth Gordon and will center on the leader of an elite group of lifeguards (Johnson) who is forced to team up with a young former Olympian (Zac Efron) in order to save the beloved bay.
Taking over the role of CJ Parker from Anderson is Kelly Rohrbach. Alexandra Daddario and Indian actress Priyanka Chopra are other names set to star in the film that is scheduled to be released in US on May 19, 2017.
