AISECT, a top organisation in skill development and employment-linked training, has joined hands with the Maulana Azad National Academy for Skills (MANAS) to implement an entrepreneurship and skills development programme to train unemployed youth from the minority community in Odisha, s statement said on Tuesday.
The initial phase of the training has commenced in Baleshwar with a batch of 30 students and two more centres at Bhubaneswar and Raigarh will be added from April onwards, it said.
Under the partnership, AISECT will skill 250 candidates for the profile of Handset Repair Technician and 250 candidates for the role of Telecom Tower Technician with each candidate undergoing approximately 340 hours of training.
The training will be free of cost for all the candidates and will cover all direct and indirect expenses including orientation, training for skills and specific training for entrepreneurship development programmes, the statement said.
Moreover, every candidate undergoing training under this scheme will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1,500 for three months during the course of training and Rs 2,000 every month for two months after its completion.
AISECT Director Siddharth Chaturvedi said: "Minority education has always been one of the major concerns in our country. The entrepreneurship and skills development programme by MANAS is a laudable step in this direction. As a social enterprise, the ambitions of the program are very much in line with the mission of our organization and we will try to execute the training to the best of our capabilities."
