West Bengal's Sanchay K.R. Paul came up with a standout performance as he shattered the national and meet records twice while winning the boys Under-14 100 metres sprint in the 29th Junior National Athletics Championships here Thursday.

Paul had clocked 11.19 seconds in the heats to better the national and meet record of 11.42s set by Tamil Nadu's B. Karthikeyan in 2010. He then went one better and did an 11.14s in the final.

Bengal's Chandan Bauri clocked 48.24s in winning the 400 metres in boys-16 to erase the national and meet record of 49.14s set by Arjun Khokar of Haryana in 2010.

Delhi's Mahashri Baloda set a national and meet record of 11.63m in the girls U-14 shot put event that was well above the previous best of 11.02m set by Anamika Das (Uttar Pradesh) in 2012.

Sachin from Haryana broke the javelin throw record in boys U-20 with an effort of 56.72m that erased the meet record of 54.30m set by Delhi's Arjun Kumar in 2008.

Chandigarh's Husandeep Singh emerged the fastest athlete of the competition as he won the 100m in boys U-20 in a meet record of 10.59s that improved upon the previous best of 10.65s set by Sujith Kuttan (Kerala) in 2010.

Meanwhile, the presence of National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) officials has not deterred some athletes from taking performance-enhancing drugs if the syringes found in the toilets of the Sree Kanteerava Stadium are any indication.

Athletics Federation of India (AFI) secretary C.K. Valson announced that two medallists -- Anand of Haryana (silver in boys U-20 1,500m) and Monica Chaudhary of Madhya Pradesh (silver in girls U-20 1,500m) have been excluded from the results as both failed to report for dope tests.
