Further stoking the ongoing debate on the rising intolerance in the country, BJP parliamentarian Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said people were free to leave as it will reduce the country's population.
"If anyone wants to leave the country, can we stop them? At least the population in our country will reduce. Is this what you call tolerance? What ISIS is doing, is it tolerance," asked the Gorakhpur MP a day after Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's remarks that his wife Kiran Rao spoke to him about moving out of India due to security situation in the country.
Aamir said at the Ramnath Goenka Awards function on Monday that there was a growing sense of disquiet in the country. He supported those returning their awards by saying this was one of the ways for creative people to express dissatisfaction.
