Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday said that those who are misusing Islam as a "shield" for their designs of terrorism are the biggest enemies of both Islam and humanity.

The minister said this while addressing a training camp for Haj pilgrims. This year nearly 1,36,000 Indians will be going for the pilgrimage.

"Entire world has been coming together against these enemies of humanity which are active with different names. Destruction of such evil forces should be the commitment of humanity," Naqvi said.

The minister added that senior officials had been sent to Saudi Arabia to take stock of the facilities and security for Indian pilgrims.

Naqvi urged the pilgrims to also pray for the unity and harmony of the country beside praying for themselves and their families.

In the camp organised by Sahyog Cultural Society information such as cooperation with each other during Haj pilgrimage was given.

For Haj 2016, about 1,00,020 Haj pilgrims have been facilitated from 21 points across India through Haj Committee. Apart from this, 36,000 Haj pilgrims have been proceeding through private tour operators.
