"Star Wars" actor Peter Mayhew, who was hospitalised for pneumonia, is on the road to recovery.
The 70-year-old actor, who is best known for playing Chewbacca in "Star Wars" movies, was hospitalised over the weekend.
Mayhew's publicist Rick updated his fans through micro-blogging site Twitter about actor's health Monday evening, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Rick wrote via Mayhew's account, "Hey all, @Webmaster_Rick here. Peter is recovering well from his bout of pneumonia. He thanks you for the well wishes!!!"
When a fan asked Rick to send Mayhew a photo of his dog "nursing" a Chewbacca doll, he replied: "Adorable! I'll make sure and show him tomorrow! -WMR."
Mayhew will reprise his role as Chewbacca in the seventh installment of "Star Wars" film series -- "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
