Pique agrees new contract with Barcelona
FC Barcelona central defender Gerard Pique have reached an agreement on to renew his contract until 2019.
The club announced the contract extension deal Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
Pique's contract finishes at the end of next season, but the deal will keep him at the club till 2019, when the player will be 32 years old. The player is now on holidays and will sign in the coming days.
Pique has played five seasons with Barca with 266 appearances. He scored 20 goals and won 16 titles.
He returned to Barcelona in 2008 when Pep Guardiola was the team's coach, after playing for Manchester United.
