What happens when a classic video game characters come alive to destroy the earth? Watch "Pixels" - a disaster comedy with a cool twist - which will find its way on the Indian small screen through Sony Pix later this month.
"Pixels", an action and sci-fi comedy, features an extraordinary number of iconic video game characters - including PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Galaga, Frogger, Q*bert, and Space Invaders.
The channel will present the Indian television premiere on February 28, according to a statement.
In the film, as children in the 1980s, Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), Will Cooper (Kevin James), Ludlow Lamonsoff (Josh Gad), and Eddie "The Fire Blaster" Plant (Peter Dinklage) saved the world thousands of times - at 25 cents a game in the video arcades.
Now, they are going to have to do it for real. Intergalactic aliens discover video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpreting them as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth, and the children have to save the world.
Based on the original short film of the same name by Patrick Jean, the action-comedy is directed by Chris Columbus, with screenplay by Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling.
