Multi-faceted talent Piyush Mishra says it is important and crucial to raise awareness about railway maintenance, infrastructure as well as safety.
Culture Machine's digital channel Being Indian has come out with a documentary in association with What Works titled "Kripya Dhyaan Dein". Piyush, who is an actor, scriptwriter, music director, lyricist and singer, has spoken in it about railway mishaps.
"Considering the fact that on an average, a Mumbaikar spends many hours commuting, I strongly feel that safety should be our top priority," Piyush said in a statement.
He added: "Commenting on issues pertaining to railway maintenance, infrastructure, or upgradation is easy, but the urgent need is to spread awareness and alertness. I am delighted to lend my voice to this powerful video by Being Indian that aims to do the same."
The documentary features real life victims who have faced the brunt of underestimating the damage probability of not following safety measures while using railways.
Piyush added: "On an average, 10 people lose their lives in train accidents each day and many are left with severe disabilities. Sadly we hear many unfortunate and disturbing stories every day."
The video also highlights the initiative taken by Sameer Zaveeri, a victim himself, to create awareness regarding the necessary safety measures while commuting by trains.
