Pleasant day in Delhi, rains expected Saturday

A pleasant, rainy morning gave way to a partly cloudy day in the capital Friday as the maximum temperature settled two notches below average at 31.8 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast rains Saturday.

"Parts of the city may get rains tomorrow (Saturday)... the skies will remain cloudy," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to range between 33 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Friday's minimum temperature settled two notches below average at 24.3 degree. The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 95 percent.

Since the arrival of the monsoon, the city has recorded 781.4 mm of rainfall -- 50 percent more than normal.
