It was a partly sunny morning here on Wednesday and the local Met Office has forecast light rain at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir.

"We are expecting light rain at isolated places over the state. There is a possibility of development of thunder towards the evening today (Wednesday) with light rain expected," an official of the local weather office told IANS.

The minimum temperature here remained at 10.2 degrees Celsius.

"It will remain partly sunny for most of the day and the maximum temperature here is likely to hover around 25 degrees," the official added.

Minimum temperatures in Pahalgam and Gulmarg tourist resorts were 4.8 degrees and 4.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Leh town of Ladakh region recorded a minimum temperature of 9.5 degrees and Kargil town recorded 5.5 degrees Celsius.

"There will be mainly clear skies in Jammu region," the weather official said

The minimum temperature in Jammu was 21.4 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, traffic will ply from Jammu to Srinagar on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on Wednesday.

Vehicles will also ply from Jammu's Poonch region towards Shopian district in the Kashmir Valley over the 84-km-long Mughal Road.

"Due to the poor condition of the Mughal Road, only light motor vehicles will be allowed on the road and a one-way traffic schedule has been worked out," a traffic police department official said.
