A 'chadar' was ceremonially offered at the dargah of revered Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti here on Wednesday on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The 'chadar' was presented by Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi to mark Chishti's 803rd annual Urs celebrations.
"Khadim Bari Chishti and Afsan Chishti helped Naqvi to offer prayers at the dargah and tied a turban," said a statement issued by the Rajasthan government.
The Urs, which is attended by hundreds of thousands from India and abroad, started on Tuesday and will continue till April 29.
According to an official release, the prime minister greeted the people on the occasion of the annual Urs.
He said India had been a land of sages, saints and prophets for thousands of years. He said Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti's message of amity continued to be relevant.
Earlier, on April 20, a 'chadar' sent on behalf of the people of the US and President Barack Obama was presented at the dargah.
