PM pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Martyr's Day

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 66th death anniversary Thursday.

The prime minister paid floral tributes at Rajghat, Mahatma Gandhi's memorial on the banks of the Yamuna river where his body was cremated.

Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse in 1948 at Birla House on what is now 5, Tees January Marg in the heart of Delhi. The building has since been converted into a museum, and is known as Gandhi Smriti.
