The Congress Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day address and all the steps taken by his government so far are mere "repackaging" of what the UPA has already done.
"What Narendra Modi has been doing in last three months, and this speech, it is all re-announcement and repackaging of what UPA has done," Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad told IANS.
"In his speech, he talked about toilets... Total sanitation campaign was started by UPA... He talked about skill development, which was also started by the UPA in the leadership of Manmohan Singh," Azad said.
In his maiden Independence Day speech Friday, Modi urged people to work for a new India by shedding the "poison" of communalism and making the country the world's manufacturing hub, and imparting skill training to youth.
He also stressed on cleanliness and making toilets.
