PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Friday urged the Madras High Court to summon the concerned Minister and all officials and condemn them for hiking the property tax rates much more than the undertaking given to the court.
In a statement issued here, Ramadoss said the Corporation of Chennai had increased the property tax rates up to 518 per cent as against an undertaking to the court that the rates would not be increased beyond 50 per cent.
Ramadoss said the High Court had ordered the government to revise upwards the property tax rates and also said it would take care of the political leaders criticising the hike.
Hence the High Court should take serious action against the Tamil Nadu government's tax rate hike, Ramadoss said.
