Team Aspar Mahindra rider Pecco Bagnaia was third in the sixth race of the 2016 season in the Italian Grand Prix here on Monday.
The race was a close battle at the Mugello circuit. Second Aspar Mahindra rider Jorge Martin was part of the pack, running as high as eighth place several times, but crossing the line 14th.
He was two seconds away from the winner Brad Binder for team KTM.
The 19-year-old Bagnaia was behind second-placed Fabio Di Giannantonio and ahead of Niccolo Antonelli, both of team Honda.
Fabio Quartararo of KTM was fifth.
The next race, in two weeks, is at Catalunya in Spain.
