Policeman killed in Srinagar militant attack

Militants on Tuesday carried out a daredevil attack at a Srinagar hospital, killing a policeman and escaping with a Pakistani terrorist.

Police sources said the militants attacked a police party near the S.M.H.S hospital here while they were escorting the terrorist for treatment.

"The detainee was being carried to the hospital from the Srinagar Central Jail when militants attacked policemen escorting Naveed Jat, alias Hamzullah, who was arrested in 2017 from Shopian district.

"The militants managed to free the detainee who escaped during the attack. While one policeman succumbed to injuries, aother has been hospital," the sources said.
