Pope Francis met a group of young 'YouTubers' from six continents and encouraged them to make the world a better place with their videos.
At the close of the Sixth World Congress of the Scholas Occurrentes, an educational organisation founded by the Pontiff, on Sunday in Rome, where young people from 190 countries participated, the Pope spoke in public with two of the stars of the video sharing platform, EFE news reported.
All YouTube's stars who were invited to the meeting have hundreds of thousands or even millions of followers.
Pope Francis held a private meeting with these young YouTube stars, who asked for advice on world problems such as bullying, discrimination or how to help people in desperate situations.
The meeting was full of emotion, but also had moments of humour.
The Pope also talked about football. He was asked whether Maradona's "Hand of God" during the 1986 soccer World Cup was really the act of divine intervention to which Francis laughed out loud but did not answer.
After the private meeting, the youngsters joined the closing ceremony of Scholas Occurrentes World Educational Conference, which was also attended by actors including Salma Hayek, Richard Gere and George Clooney.
Scholas Occurrentes is an organisation founded in 2013 by Pope Francis with the intention to change the world through youths and education.
