Portugal beat Hungary 1-0 in FIFA World Cup qualifier

Portugal defeated Hungary 1-0 in the FIFA World Cup European zone qualifier here.

AC Milan striker Andre Silva settled the victory for European champion Portugal in the 48th minute with a header via Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo's pass on Sunday, Xinhua news agency reported.

Following the loss, Hungary were eliminated from the race to qualify for next year's tournament in Russia.

Hungary last participated in the World Cup in 1986.
