Skill development company PositiveShift on Thursday announced the launch of a global learning network to provide access to affordable and quality content "anywhere anytime".

Built with a seed investment of $750,000, the WIISE learning network comprises different models to deliver the content online or through television.

Vijay Ketan Mitra, CEO, Founder and Executive Coach at PositiveShift, told reporters that they plan to raise $15 million in Series A funding over the next six to nine months.

The network will cater to high school students (Class 8 to 12), competitive exam market and the employees looking to do new courses.

While it has already launched its online model known as WIISE online, WIISE television will be launched in September this year to offer live and interactive classes.

Under WIISE Connect, it will set up centres in all 100 smart cities proposed to be developed across the country. The network will also help startups by bringing them together with mentors and other players under WIISE start, while WIISE Junior will offer children education with entertainment.

The subscription-based platform will deliver the courses for anywhere between Rs 5,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh depending on the course selected.

WIISE, a separate entity under PositiveShift, has already signed up with IIM-Lucknow, Goa Institute of Management, National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) and Delta Setup as learning partners.

It has set an online subscription target of one million subscribers by 2020 and for WIISE TV a target of 30 lakh subscribers by 2020.

"Affordable access to good quality learning is the biggest gap in an emerging country like India. WIISE Learning network is a global community that helps anyone to learn anything to achieve personal and professional goals," said Vijay.

Every faculty and students at WIISE platform have access to course information anytime, anywhere. To begin with, WIISE will offer over 250 self-paced study courses on demand, including 7 live virtual classes.

"WIISE's objective is to bring top-rated interactive courses and certifications from across the world through respected Global Academic Institutes and Industry experts to learners of our country," said Vivek Reddy, Chief Business Officer at PositiveShift.

WIISE is already running an entrepreneurship program for trainers successfully. It plans to launch five more live virtual courses from premier institutes this summer.

Set up four years ago, PositiveShift is already working for skill development in partnership with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
